The Plan, 2026 to 2028

Spindrift’s two-season cruising plan, spring 2026 through spring 2028. Roughly 8,500 nautical miles in three phases.
Phase 1: Mediterranean
- May 2026. Balearic Islands, Spain. Mallorca, Cabrera, Ibiza.
- June – August 2026. Summer haul at Cap d’Agde, France. About 250 nm from Palma.
- September 2026. Cap d’Agde to Cannes, France for the boat show.
- September – November 2026. Cannes to Marina di Ragusa on the south coast of Sicily, Italy. About 640 nm, 27 days, two overnighters, by way of Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy).
- November 2026 – March 2027. Winter storage in southern Sicily. Day sails and short hops only.
- April 2027. Sicily to Corfu, Greece. About 310 nm across the bottom of the Adriatic, timed for the first settled window.
- May – June 2027. Greek waters. The Ionian, the Corinth Canal, the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades. Return to Sicily by mid-June, about 500 nm from Kefalonia.
- July – August 2027. Summer haul in Sicily through the peak heat.
- September – October 2027. Sicily to Gibraltar. About 1,150 nm via the Aeolian Islands (Italy), Sardinia, and the Balearics. Med exit before the EU customs deadline on 8 October.
Phase 2: Atlantic Crossing
- October – November 2027. Gibraltar to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Spain. About 880 nm down the Portuguese trades, with a stop in Madeira, Portugal.
- Late November – December 2027. Atlantic crossing with the ARC rally. Las Palmas to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia. About 2,700 nm, 18 to 21 days of trade-wind sailing.
Phase 3: Caribbean and USA
- January – April 2028. Eastern Caribbean island chain.
- May 2028. Sint Maarten (Dutch Caribbean) to Hampton, Virginia. About 1,500 nm.
